If you believe you are college bound, you will want to take the ACT, a college entrance exam, as early as the summer prior to your junior year. It is usually suggested that you take the ACT at least two to three times by the fall of your senior year when the college application process begins. While many colleges and universities have become test optional for admissions in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many rigorous institutions require an ACT score as a part of the application. Many colleges and universities use an ACT score for admission decisions for specific academic programs (engineering, business, nursing, etc.) and for scholarship consideration. Arcanum High School will offer fall ACT testing for interested juniors and seniors (usually in October) and spring ACT testing for college bound juniors (usually in March).
